My Reversion to Islam

Brother  Yousef al Khattab and his family

My Reversion to Islam
By Yousef al Khattab

I was born to a Secular Jewish family, and at the age of 18 years old decided to look "deeper" into belief in God. Like most people, I looked at religion from a view point that was closer to me. Being that my family was Jewish and I was raised to attend Jewish schools I looked into Rabbinical "Orthodox Judaism".

In the year 1988 I entered a Yeshiva and started my journey into the Orthodox Rabbinical racist cult. In 1991 I wed my 1st wife (then) Luna Mellul now Qamar al Khattab. She was from the Moroccan town named Tetouan and was attending the racist Orthodox Jewish girl’s seminary known as Breuers or Sampson Raphael Hirsh Bet Yaakov aka Bais Yakov.

1992 bought us the birth of my 1st child Abdel Rahman (formally Rachamim Cohen). Alhumdulilah he was then as he is now my pride and joy. Upon the birth of Abdel Rahman we were living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the Satmar Hasidic community. I used to see all the lying and cheating, government scams and money laundering using the Synagogue and Yeshiva bank accounts and the poor hygiene of these folk, and was nervous for my new born son not to grow up like these folk. We tried broadening our horizons and moved to the Ocean Parkway area of Brooklyn, later that year.

1994 till 1998 bought us the birth of 3 more wonderful children alhumdulilah. Hesibeh, Abdel Aziz (formally Ezra),and Abdullah (formally Ovadia) during these years I tried to convince myself that Judaism was a true path and I just didn’t understand it because I never read the entire set of Talmud and it 3 different ways of understanding it including the "hidden level". You see this is the trick in the rabbinical cult, you will not EVER finish learning all the rabbinic text thus u are subservient to the Rabbis (aka Elders of Zion) who will interpret Judaism for you. During this time frame the Rabbis saw that we doubted there beliefs thus constantly followed our family contacting all new friends and employers etc. The Rabbis MUST ALWAYS know where you move to and who are your friends. The Rabbis were starting to be a big nuisance as were the Rabbinical Jews so seeking a better future elsewhere we loaded up the family and moved to Palestine. (then like most westerners we were brainwashed to refer to the Jew entity as Israel).

September,1998 we now arrived in Ghaza or what the Jewish squatters refer to as Gush Qatif. Quickly my wife was turned off by the lies of the folk there and my son Abdel Rahman came running home from school one day saying "Daddy, my teacher doesn’t cover her hair properly, her dress is too short, they don't learn Torah here and all they do is play"!! Maashaallah, my son was very correct so with no possessions or money we set off to find a home in the nearby Jew settlement of Netivot in occupied 1948 Palestine. Shas, a "religious political party" immediately helped us by providing a home and their private school system and my kids went from knowing NO Hebrew to being tops in there class alhumdulilah.

During our stay in Netivot I met a Muslim from UAE and we had conversations for about 2 years where he would ask me questions about Jewish Aqeedah or Jewish creed, and then compare it to Tawheed al Elohiya a part of Islamic Monotheism. I would then go and ask major Rabbis questions about the Jewish creed and always got 60000 different answers. The Jews can't even tell you where there God is based on text; rather they say God is everywhere! (authubilah) One day I decided to go to the Arab souk and buy a translation of the meaning of the Holy Quran in the English language. Subahanallah!!!!! I could not put it down!! Every problem I had with Jews and Judaism was being addressed by Allah the Most High, in the 1st 3 chapters of the Quran Allah swt answered most of my doubts about Judaism. The Quran is firm with the Jews and invites them to a just truth (Islam) to save them from the hellfire their ancestors are currently in.

When I finished reading the entire Quran,I could no longer associate with Jews any longer, thus I was obliged to tell my wife I am a Muslim. Alhumdulilah within 2 weeks my wife decided to read the Quran and became a Muslimah!!! Then the kids after her alhumdulilah.

Today 2006 alhumdulilah I live in Morocco with my wife Qamar and kids. My kids no longer remember Hebrew and there 1st language is Arabic. All the kids are learning in Islamic Arabic Schools alhumdulilah we thank Allah subhana w tala for blessing us with Islam.

Queen Rania, Jordan's virtual queen

Queen Rania of Jordan is using social media to promote her charitable work, meet her subjects and chat to her children. All she wants to do now is get her fridge on Twitter.

Queen Rania of Jordan: Google says 'hyper-personalised' streams are the future of the news
The Queen recently made headlines for getting on an ordinary commuter train. While this sudden appearance surprised Britons, the people of Jordan are far more used to publicly-accessible royalty. Their monarch, Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, is on Twitter, Facebook and has her own YouTube channel.

Queen Rania was in Paris earlier this month to speak at Le Web, a conference that brings together some of the world’s smartest technology entrepreneurs. Though she once worked in Apple’s marketing department, Queen Rania is not someone you would expect to find alongside Chad Hurley, the co-founder and CEO of YouTube, and Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s co-founder. Police find evidence to link government militia to Maguindanao massacre

Wednesday, December 02, 2009 01:34:45 PM

COTABATO CITY, Philippines (Mindanao Examiner / December 2, 2009) – Police is investigating a government militia for his possible involvement in the brutal slaying of 57 people in the southern province of Maguindanao.

The militia is among more than a hundred gunmen who held a caravan of political campaigners and journalists and killed and buried them on mass graves on remote village in Ampatuan town on November 23.

Police said the militia is being investigated after bullets shells found in the mass graves matched his rifle. More than 300 militias under the control of the Ampatuan clan were disarmed after they had been linked to the brutal slayings.

Authorities have linked the mass murders to Andal Ampatuan Jnr, the mayor of Datu Unsay town and son of the governor of Maguindanao, Andal Ampatuan Snr, and younger brother of Zaldy Ampatuan, governor of the Muslim autonomous region to which the province belongs.

Italian hostess accepts Colonel Gaddafi's Islam plea

Two Italian girls show a copy of the Koran they received after attending party' given by Libyan Leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi Photo: EPA

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's appeal to hundreds of glamorous Italian hostesses to renounce Catholicism and convert to Islam has fallen on fertile ground after some of his guests agreed to consider becoming Muslims.

Of the 400 young women who were asked to two events hosted by the Libyan leader in Rome this week, a few said they were interested in travelling to Tripoli or even Mecca to consider becoming Muslims.

"The meeting with Muammar Gaddafi has changed me," said one of the women, Alda Ribeiro, 27.

"Islam used to frighten me, now it fascinates me. I don't know how my mum will take it – her name's Maria de Lourdes, so you get the idea that she is a staunch Catholic," she told the newspaper Corriere della Sera. "For me, Islam was always associated with the concept of the submission of women. The other evening there was fear among the girls that we would all end up in a harem," added Miss Ribeiro, whose family is originally from the former Portuguese colony of Sao Tome and Principe, off the coast of West Africa. Philippines takes aim at juicy bar trafficking

The women who work in the bars try to convince passing U.S. soldiers to come inside, where they keep the men company as long as the soldiers buy them expensive juice drinks.

The “juicy bars” — where prostitution is often a byproduct. The "law batt" skill won't work here for sure.

UIJEONGBU, South Korea-Philippine women would no longer be allowed to work in South Korean “juicy bars” where prostitution is often a byproduct-if Philippine Embassy officials’ efforts to tighten up immigration regulations succeed.

Embassy labor attache Delmer Cruz said he hopes that by the first quarter of 2010 women from his country will be prohibited from employment as “hospitality workers … at bars in the vicinity of U.S. bases or near the sea ports.”  Read More

Sabah Media Urged To Remain Catalyst For Strengthening Unity

SIPITANG, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Media practitioners in Sabah have been urged to utilise writing as a platform to promote unity among the country's multiracial populace.

State information executive councillor Datuk Sapawi Ahmad (picture) said the media was in the best position to motivate the people towards safeguarding unity.

He called on the media to report based on facts and not manipulating certain issues to the extent of touching racial sensitivities. "The media has a role to play in disseminating accurate news in a speedy manner to the people, including news items concerning national unity," he told reporters when met at the Sipitang Umno open house in conjunction with the Aidilfitri here today.

Sapawi, who is Sipitang member of parliament, was asked to comment on the role of the media against the backdrop of current issues involving Malaysia domestically and regionally.

Citing the pendet dance controversy as an example, Sapawi said the issue should not be blown out of proportion as it was for both governments to find an amicable solution to the matter.

The Indonesian media have been harping on the issue for weeks now claiming that Malaysia had stolen what they claimed as Indonesian cultural property despite the clarification by Malaysia that it had never laid claims on the traditional Balinese dance.

On the domestic front, Sapawi said playing up racial issues was not helpful to the 1Malaysia vision.

The media should help the government to make the vision a reality by telling inspiring stories of how the people stood united despite their cultural and religious backgrounds, he said.

UN inquiry finds Israel guilty of Gaza war crimes

UN: Israel terrorised Gazans in war

Israel "punished and terrorised" civilians in Gaza in a disproportionate attack in its three-week offensive on the territory earlier this year, a United Nations report has found. Judge Richard Goldstone, who led the inquiry, said on Wednesday that he found evidence Israel targeted civilians and used excessive force in the assault, which was launched on December 27, 2008.

"The mission concluded that actions amounting to war crimes, and possibly in some respects crimes against humanity, were committed by the Israel Defence Force," Goldstone, a former South African justice, said. While the report was more sharply critical of Israel, it also said that there was evidence "that Palestinian armed groups committed war crimes, as well as possibly crimes against humanity", by firing rockets into southern Israel. More than 1,400 Palestinians - about a third of them women and children - were killed in the offensive. Thirteen Israeli died during the same period, mostly due to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip .

The US state department reacted to the report, telling Al Jazeera that they had "concerns about some of the report's recommendations", without giving specifics. Washington said that the mandate given for the report had been "one sided and unacceptable" but that Goldstone had attempted to broaden the scope of the report "to cover abuses on all sides of the conflict".

Sharp criticism

Goldstone's report, which came at the end of a six-month inquiry and will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council later this month, said Israel deliberately attacked civilians, failed to take precautions to minimise loss of civilian life and cited strong evidence that Israeli forces committed "grave breaches" of the Geneva Conventions. He said: "In the months since the end of the war, various rights groups both domestic and international have provided evidence of Israel’s war crimes."

Goldstone said the evidence included accounts of "the shooting of civilians holding white flags ... the deliberate and unjustifiable targeting of UN shelters ... and the killing of over 300 children whilst the Israeli Army had at their disposal the most precise weaponry in the world". He also condemned Hamas' - the de facto ruler of the Gaza Strip - conduct, whom he said undertook extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detention and ill-treatment of Palestinian detainees.
Goldstone also called for the release of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli corporal abducted by Gaza fighters in June 2006, on humanitarian grounds and said that the Palestinian Authority in the occupied West Bank had committed human rights violations against political opponents.

Credible investigations

Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros, reporting from Gaza, said: "The theme [of] this new UN report is the idea of excessive force being used [by Israel] and deliberate targeting of civilians. "[It said] There was nothing to warn civilians that there were incoming rockets.
"The Israelis say they provided leaflets and made thousands of calls to Gazan citizens, but ... [regardless] they didn't give them any option of where to go." The report said there were "numerous instances of deliberate attacks on civilians" and civilian objects in Gaza by Israel. Its firing of white phosphorous shells and the use of high explosive artillery shells were listed as "violations of humanitarian law".

The investigators recommended that the UN Security Council should call on Israeli and Palestinian authorities to launch their own credible investigations into the conflict within three months. If either side failed to do that, the council should refer the matter to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor in The Hague within six months, they added.

Israel has already ruled out such an investigation.
Rejection 'surprising'
Fawzi Barhoum,

a Hamas spokesman, told Al Jazeera: "This report is further evidence Israel committed war crimes during its war on Gaza, and we call on the international community to bring Israeli war criminals to trial." The report said that Palestinian authorites in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank had cooperated with the panel.

Israel, which had refused to co-operate with the investigation, claimed the UN Human Rights Council that ordered it was biased against Israel, allegations which Goldstone and the three other members of the team have denied. Mark Regev, a spokesman for the Israeli government, said the army did not target civilians during its campaign against Hamas. "Israel did not target civilians. The opposite is true - we made every effort not to see the civilian population caught up in the crossfire," he told Al Jazeera.

The Israeli government said that its military had opened more than 100 inquiries into allegations of alleged wrongdoing by its forces, but had closed most of them because the accusations were found to be baseless. Israel also said Hamas "unnecessarily exposed the civilian population of Gaza to the inherent dangers of military operations" around them by firing rockets into Israel, and therefore violated "international humanitarian law".

Goldstone told Al Jazeera: "I'm surprised that Israel has so speedily read a 575-page report and so quickly rejected it." Goldstone, the former chief prosecutor of the international courts for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, headed the fact-finding mission which conducted dozens of interviews and investigations. - AL JAZEERA

Rakyat Jepun nanti 'sentuhan emas' Hatoyama

Pengundi tolak LDP selepas 54 tahun memerintah kerana termakan umpan perubahan DPJ

Persoalannya sekarang apakah beliau mampu melaksanakannya?

Japan's ruling party conceded a crushing defeat

TOKYO – Japan's ruling party conceded a crushing defeat Sunday after 54 years of nearly unbroken rule as voters were poised to hand the opposition a landslide victory in nationwide elections, driven by economic anxiety and a powerful desire for change.

The left-of-center Democratic Party of Japan was set to win 300 or more of the 480 seats in the lower house of parliament, ousting the Liberal Democrats, who have governed Japan for all but 11 months since 1955, according to exit polls by all major Japanese TV networks.

"These results are very severe," Prime Minister Taro Aso said in a news conference at party headquarters, conceding his party was headed for a big loss. "There has been a deep dissatisfaction with our party." Aso said he would have to accept responsibility for the results, suggesting that he would resign as party president.

Other LDP leaders also said they would step down, though official results were not to be released until early Monday morning. The loss by the Liberal Democrats — traditionally a pro-business, conservative party — would open the way for the Democratic Party, headed by Yukio Hatoyama, to replace Aso and establish a new Cabinet, possibly within the next few weeks.

The vote was seen as a barometer of frustrations over Japan's worst economic slump since World War II and a loss of confidence in the ruling Liberal Democrats' ability to tackle tough problems such as the rising national debt and rapidly aging population. The Democrats have embraced a more populist platform, promising handouts for families with children and farmers, a higher minimum wage, and to rebuild the economy. "The nation is very angry with the ruling party, and we are grateful for their deep support," Hatoyama said after the polls closed. "We will not be arrogant and we will listen to the people."

The Democrats have also said they will seek a more independent relationship with Washington, while forging closer ties with Japan's Asian neighbors, including China. But Hatoyama, who holds a doctorate in engineering from Stanford University, insists he will not seek dramatic change in Japan's foreign policy, saying the U.S.-Japan alliance would "continue to be the cornerstone of Japanese diplomatic policy."

National broadcaster NHK, using projections based on exit polls of roughly 400,000 voters, said the Democratic Party was set to win 300 seats and the Liberal Democrats only about 100 — a third of its strength before the vote. TV Asahi, another major network, said the Democratic Party would win 315 seats, up from the 112 seats it held before parliament was dissolved in July. As voting closed Sunday night, officials said turnout was high, despite an approaching typhoon, indicating the intense level of public interest in the hotly contested campaigns.

Even before the vote was over, the Democrats pounded the ruling party for driving the country into a ditch. Japan's unemployment has spiked to record 5.7 percent while deflation has intensified and families have cut spending because they are insecure about the future. Making the situation more dire is Japan's aging demographic — which means more people are on pensions and there is a shrinking pool of taxpayers to support them and other government programs. Many voters said that although the Democrats are largely untested in power and doubts remain about whether they will be able to deliver on their promises, the country needs a change."We don't know if the Democrats can really make a difference, but we want to give them a chance," Junko Shinoda, 59, a government employee, said after voting at a crowded polling center in downtown Tokyo. The Democratic Party would only need to win a simple majority of 241 seats in the lower house to assure that it can name the next prime minister.

The 300-plus level would allow it and its two smaller allies the two-thirds majority they need in the lower house to pass bills. Having the Democrats in power would smooth policy debates in parliament, which has been deadlocked since the Democrats and their allies took over the less powerful upper house in 2007. To ease parenting costs and encourage more women to have babies, the Democrats propose giving families 26,000 yen ($275) a month per child through junior high. Japan's population of 127.6 millionpeaked in 2006, and is expected to decline to 115 million in 2030 and fall below 100 million by the middle of the century.

The party is also proposing toll-free highways, free high schools, income support for farmers, monthly allowances for job seekers in training, a higher minimum wage and tax cuts. The estimated bill comes to 16.8 trillion yen ($179 billion) if fully implemented starting in fiscal year 2013 — and critics say the plans would further bloat Japan's massive public debt.

The Democrats will likely face resistance from Japan's powerful bureaucrats, who favor the status quo and hold a great deal of influence in shaping policy. Aso — whose own support ratings have sagged to a dismal 20 percent — repeatedly stressed his party led Japan's rise from the ashes of World War II into one of the world's biggest economic powers and are best equipped to get it out of its current morass. In the end, voter worries about the economy and disenchantment with the LDP's long grip on power proved too much to overcome. "It's revolutionary," said Tomoaki Iwai, a political science professor at Tokyo's Nihon University. "It's the first real change of government" Japan has had in six decades.

ORGAN RAKYAT PALESTINE DIPERDAGANGKAN ISRAEL: AKHBAR SWEDEN.

Fredrik Rein-feldt, Perdana Menteri Sweden.

Manila at standstill for Aquino

The body of Corazon Aquino will lie in state until her funeral on Wednesday [EPA]

Tens of thousands of people have lined the streets of the Philippines' capital, Manila, to pay their respects to Corazon Aquino, the late former president, as her body was transported to city's cathedral.

The 76-year-old died in the early hours of Saturday morning after a long fight against colon cancer. The scene in central Manila on Monday was reminiscent of the Philippines' so-called "people power" uprising in 1986 that toppled Ferdinand Marcos, the former president, and brought Aquino to power.

Her body will lie in state at the cathedral before she is buried in a private funeral on Wednesday. Masses of people yelled her name as Aquino's coffin was escorted through the rain-soaked streets of the capital along a historic avenue that was the site of the revolt against what many saw as Marcos' authoritarian rule.

Tens of thousands left their offices, schools and homes and converged on to the streets with yellow balloons, waving yellow ribbons and showering confetti on Aquino's flag-draped casket. Yellow became a symbol of the non-violent uprising in the country. "I have not seen a crowd like this," Franklin Drilon, Aquino's former cabinet aide, told the Associated Press.

"The people here are very enthusiastic, people in sandals, people in coat and tie, young and old with babies, they're coming out waving."

Aquino rose to prominence after the 1983 assassination of her husband, Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino, upon his return from exile in the United States to challenge Marcos.

As his widow she led the largest funeral procession Manila had ever seen, with as many as two million said to have attended.

The killing angered many Filipinos and unleashed an opposition movement that pushed Aquino into the role of leader. Marcos claimed victory over Aquino in a 1986 election but the polls were widely viewed as rigged. Corazon Aquino became the icon of the Philippines' struggle for democracy [EPA] A group of military officers subsequently rebelled against him, triggering three days of "people power" demonstrations by hundreds of thousands of protesters that finally toppled Marcos, forcing him to flee into exile in Hawaii.

Many mourners during Monday's procession flashed the letter "L" sign with their fingers – symbolic for the world "laban", meaning "fight", Aquino's slogan during the her election campaign. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all," the youngest of the Aquino children, actress Kristina Bernadette, said as the convoy stopped in front of the statue of her late father, Benigno Aquino. "Our hearts feel so wonderful because you are letting us feel that you loved my mum very much," she said. "I feel so blessed to be a Filipino."

She said allowing the public to openly view her mother's body was "our way of saying thank you to the people who were with us from the very start."

Reluctant leader

As a former housewife who reluctantly became president, Aquino once said: "What on Earth do I know about being president?" before taking up the challenge to run against Marcos. During her presidential term Aquino, known as Cory to millions of Filipinos, helped cement the democratic process and oversaw the writing of a new constitution, thereby limiting a president's time in office to one six-year term.

She left office in 1992, but remained politically active until beset by illness. Aquino was forced to withdraw from public life after being diagnosed in March 2008 with colon cancer, which spread to her liver just days before her death.

Urumqi terus tegang, penduduk dilarang adakan perhimpunan awam

ANGEL OF FREEDOM WAS SHOT DEAD

From Fox News.

Neda Soltan, known as "Angel of Freedom "was reportedly gunned down during protests in the capital city. Videos posted on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter show her bleeding from the nose and mouth as a crowd tries unsuccessfully to stanch the flow and save her life.

Relatives and friends of Neda Soltan, the 26-year-old protester who's become an international symbol of Iranian resistance, wanted her to be remembered for her love of music and passion for travel. "She was a person full of joy," the Los Angeles Times quotes her music teacher and close friend Hamid Panahi, who was among mourners at her family home. "She was a beam of light. I'm so sorry. I was so hopeful for this woman."

Details continue to emerge Tuesday about the murdered protester nickamed "Angel of Freedom," after graphic videos of her apparent murder at a Tehran protest hit the Internet. Images of Soltan's bloody death on Saturday have galvanized the country and many insist on speaking out about this young woman and who she was, despite authorities banning anyone from mourning her.

The second of three children, Soltan studied Islamic philosophy at a branch of Tehran's Azad University before deciding to take private classes to become a tour guide, hoping to ultimately lead Iranians on trips abroad, the L.A. Times reported. She was reportedly passionate about traveling and had gone with friends to Dubai, Turkey and Thailand. The young Iranian was also an accomplished singer who was taking piano lessons, according to Panahi.

Soltan was not a hardcore activist, but had started attending the mass protests because she felt deeply outraged by the election results.

Maka sesungguhnya syurgalah tempat tinggalnya. (al-Naziat ayat 40-41)

"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes...known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. . . No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."
