He said to realise the objective, a new approach had been mapped out to produce a high-performing society based on the 1Malaysia concept but without sidelining the founding principles of the nation, including the Consitution and the Rukun Negara (National Philosophy).
"To achieve high growth, more progressive polices have been formulated towards meeting the needs of the times.
"Among them is the liberalisation of 27 economic sub-sectors, coming up with the New Economic Model (NEM) which stresses on innovation and creativity, enhancing public-private sector cooperation, appreciating talent and human capital potential, and moulding new mindsets in line with the government's transformation plan (GTP)," he said when opening the 53rd National Quran Reciters Assembly here Tuesday night.
Najib said the tabling of the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) involving a budget of RM230 billion recently followed the 1Malaysia concept and was formulated based on the GTP and NEM and centred on six National Key Result Areas (NKRAs).Read More
